Design Your Own Bookmarks
Every page of my children’s books starts with wool. Now you can bring that same fiber art magic to your own reading nook. This Binding Tales Felting Kit guides you through creating three wool bookmarks, one fuzzy fiber at a time, using the same needle felting techniques I use to illustrate my books.
Felting is a new art form for most people, kids and grown-ups alike. There is something special about watching loose wool become a picture you made with your own hands. Felt flowers, landscapes, critters, or swirls of color. The design is all yours. When you’re finished, you’ll have three bookmarks to keep in your favorite stories or tuck into a gift.

A Note on Safety
Felting needles are very sharp. Please use caution when opening your kit and while you are needle felting. Young felters should work with adult supervision.
Loved in Maine Classrooms
The felted bookmark is a favorite in my live classes and Ignite author visits. The example designs pictured were created by students at Old Town Elementary School, proof that first-time felters make beautiful work.
About Hillary Dow
I’m a Maine author, illustrator, and fiber artist, publishing children’s books illustrated with needle felted wool. From Farm to Bookshelf. Classically trained as an illustrator at Hartford Art School, I picked up my first felting needle in 2019 and knew I had found my medium. It is such a joy to help others create artwork with their own hands.
