Hillary Dow is a mother, author, and fiber artist in Maine, publishing children’s books illustrated with her wool creations. Classically trained as an illustrator, the wool used for her artwork is responsibly sourced from sheep living happily on Maine farms. In 2025, Hillary published her fourth children’s picture book, Flock of Rock, the thirteenth title released by her indie publishing company, Binding Tales. Visiting schools for author visits is a delight and honor that Hillary enjoys very much. She also teaches needle felting lessons both in person and online, sharing the art form she has come to love! In late 2025, she launched Fiber Folk Marketing, providing digital marketing services tailored to fiber shop and farm owners. Hillary is now illustrating her next book, starring a curious little octopus!

When she’s not pouring energy into her children’s books and artwork, Hillary spends her days as the Marketing Director for a large family-owned auto group with dealerships across Maine. Along with her husband, Adam, and their two children, the Dow family loves adventures in the great outdoors, picking all of Maine’s seasonal fruits, reading, dancing, fishing, hiking, traveling, and creating.
